Cacique literally means “Chief of the Tribe” – it’s a famous rum from the exotic country of Venezuela.

On a warm July weekend I had the esteemed opportunity to savour the exquisite blend of this South American Rum.

Cacique rum on the rocks, with a splash of lemon juice and mint was an innovative idea for a cocktail. It was refreshing and quite relaxing. The best part was that, along with this drink there was a wonderful guitar performance too! The music from the Spanish Guitar was pleasent and it set a special tone for the evening.

We played a lot of tunes and the one that struck most to me was ‘Ruby, don’t take your love to town!’ Love that song & the memories of the evening comes rushing back.

As always music never fails to move me, the warm subltle lights were soothing and the refreshing Cacique in my hands was refreshing and was wonderful.

I guess the pictures does justice to what it really must have been that day – for every time I look at this picture it’s nostalgic & even after all these days makes me happy!
